At Hopton Church of England Primary, our vision and values underpin everything we do and in turn shape the curriculum. We chose the ‘Parable of the Lost Sheep’, to embody our shared vision, because at Hopton, everyone is important and no one is ever left behind.
We see education as a lifelong journey, for our pupils and our staff. Our aim is to prepare pupils with all the skills needed for life, ensuring they become well-rounded individuals, both academically, emotionally and spiritually.
We believe in developing the whole child through a creative, purposeful curriculum, full of inspiring experiences, which encourages them to develop a curiosity in God’s creation. We wish our children to leave us, well prepared for the next stage in their education. Our Christian values are central to our school family and we focus on these every day.
Compassion
We use actions and attitudes to reflect kindness, to give strength, and to be there for others.
We believe that compassion is all about putting yourself in someone else’s shoes, especially when they are having a hard time. It is about trying to understand how they are feeling and then being pro-active in wanting to help.
‘Clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.’
Colossians 3 v12
Aspiration
We are excited about learning.
We believe that by providing a broad and exciting curriculum and through effective feedback, we are all challenged and supported in equal measure. We see this through the highest possible levels of progress and attainment for us all. We believe anything is possible.
‘But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.’
Chronicles 2 15:7
Respect
We take the time to know and value each other as individuals.
We believe that by understanding each other we can best empower, support and therefore realise our potentials. It is important to help each other understand our roles in the world, which is now local, national and global..
‘A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.’
John 13:34-35
Equality and Equity
We believe that we are all of equal value and deserve equal access to every aspect of school life.
We believe that school is a safe and happy place for all and that everyone is treated fairly regarding of race, gender, sexuality, disability, religion, age and we respect and tolerate our differences..
‘Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.’
Hebrews 12:14
